Project Life

I've been determined to get back into digital scrapping this year and also try project life. With just the right class over on Jessica Sprague's site I really had no excuse!

the first page was quite easy as it was just an introduction

My first week was a quiet one and this is reflected in my photos

There is a lot to learn but I'm pleased I've got to grips with making the date embellishments. I am trying to keep it simple so I will not find it too hard to keep up.

having a play

I had an email yesterday from Jessica Sprague with a free Photoshop Friday class, to fill type with patterned paper. I fancied having a go so spent a pleasant 20mins or so making a layout. Very slowly I am starting to remember how to do this. The one thing I couldn't do was make the journalling fit the lines, I'm going to have to find a class on that.

challenging myself

How quickly I forget things, it's mainly my age but it's also the fact I dabble in so many things my brain can't keep up. A few years ago I did quite a few Jessica Sprague digi classes which I really enjoyed but then I went back to normal scrapping and forgot about digi. In December I saw Jessica had a free class which I signed up for where she taught the technique of making the star on my layout. I was fine following her instructions but soon realised everything I used to do automatically had deserted me. I think I will have to revisit some of the classes I bought and learn it all again.

new class

Jessica Sprague has a new free class which you can find here and I’ve been enjoying relearning some techniques.

birthday copy

In the first lesson you were shown how to make a clipping mask and add frames, colouring them to compliment your photos.

project life

JN-DPL-weekend-web

My daughter and I have recently been doing a new class by Jessica Sprague on project life. I’m hoping that by practising this year I will be able to do it digitally next year. This is my first attempt following the instructions given, it was great fun.

what to do when the snooker’s on!

JS-PSF-11-30-Template copy

Snooker seems to have taken over the television for a while giving me time to do a little digi scrapping. Using a class from Jessica Sprague I made a diamond background and scrapped about my mother-in –law’s stool.

digi

a little bit of digi scrapping as I get back to doing some craft. The kit is from a class by Jessica Sprague and the photo of my little granddaughter.

quick page

JS-PSTop5-QuickPage-1-web

I really enjoyed making this digi page, we had to drop a photo into the space provided, upload and stamp a brush and write the journalling. Although I have done all this before it is always great to be reminded of the many cool things you can do in PSE.

Jessica Sprague is celebrating her 5th birthday with a free class and I’ve been having a play with a photo.

Some fun techniques to use, if you have photoshop then do go over to her shop and give it a try.

feeling a little down

hello little one

We all have times when we just don’t feel on top of the world and that’s how I’ve been for a few days. So in an effort to get myself out of it I had a look at one of the classes I’ve bought from Jessica Sprague and had a play. The idea was to soften the photo using various layers in photoshop and then add a texture which I got from here.

another class from Jessica Sprague, this time showing how to load a stitch brush and use it in different ways on your layout – I’d forgotten how much fun this is especially with some baby photos to scrap!

digi scrapping

hello there!

credits: this was a Photoshop Friday class by Jessica Sprague

Although I’m loving doing paper scrapping  I don’t want to forget the digi so I’m revisiting some Jessica Sprague classes again. In this class you had to make the title, outlining it in white and then filling in the loops with colours from the kit. I love the effect of this and hope my brain will store the technique for future use!

digi

Suddenly wanted to do some digi scrapping today so looked out a Jessica Sprague class again. It's taken me ages and there was lots to think about but I really enjoyed doing this layout

making a banner

shake party

I bought all the Photoshop Friday classes from Jessica Sprague not so long ago, just as well as she is retiring them soon.

This was lesson 3, using the selection tools to draw these triangles for the banner, simple but very effective.

anniversary

Scan

It’s our anniversary today, 38yrs of wedded bliss! There we are aged 17yrs and 23yrs, just at the start of life together. Being us we’ve not really done much today, just relaxed after a minor disaster with DS3’s car. We can’t even go out for a meal as my diet wont let me!

treasure seekers

I did make this digi layout from a class by Jessica Sprague.

digi class

love you

Another Jessica Sprague class, filling a title with patterned paper. The photo was taken by Jenny and the font was a free one called NKOTB Fever by Dafont. I loved this technique and will definitely be using it again.

at last!

9 feb

I’ve been digi scrapping for quite a while now but have never printed anything out,but having been given a good site to go to for matt paper by my friend Sue, I finally did it today! I’m making an album of our walks this year, something that interests Ian as well, so I’m glad I finally took the plunge!

always

I’m also redoing another Jessica Sprague class my daughter bought me and I’ve never finished. So much to do and so little time, at least I’m never bored!

my home

hello home

For the last lesson in the up and running class by Jessica Sprague we had to make a layout about our home. I changed this slightly by using photos of our little seaside town which Jenny had taken.
