The nights are drawing in and soon the heating will go on, tis the season for board games.
It’s the first Sunday of the month again and bloggers everywhere are busy writing their stories for Sian's Storytelling Sunday.
I love board games, well I do most of the time. As a child my best friend Susan and I would spend hours playing Monopoly, Risk and Careers along with endless games of cards. I love it when the grandchildren step away from the computer and ask to play a game, although if I’m truthful my heart sinks a bit if Monopoly is brought out.

On this particular day Go for broke was suggested and it had the added appeal of Uncle Peter being around to play. Alex set it up and Peter, Becca and I got ready to join in. Peter sat done and told the children he was going to win all the money and beat them all. As they started to tell him this wasn’t how you played the game I whispered to them not to let on he’d got it wrong.
I have to say Peter played it beautifully, looking very pleased with himself every time he won which Becca thought was hilarious. As our money disappeared he got more and more excited boasting he was winning. It wasn’t long before Becca lost all her money and won the game which left Peter looking very bewildered and then very angry
“ you mean I was meant to lose all this time, you all knew and didn’t tell me, you’ve all been laughing at me” he shouted at them angrily.
Alex stood up looking very scared and pointed his finger at me
“ it was her, it was her” he shouted.
Thanks Alex!!
