My Circle Journal

Have finally done my entry for tmy circle journal, My Home Town. I chose as my favourite place, Joss Bay. I did a layout on Saturday but my heart wasn't in it because of several worrying phonecalls, so I tried again yesterday. I have to get it posted by wednesday and was worried I might be called away again, so I am glad to have got it finished. I kept it quite simple, following some ideas from shimelle that I have done for my last book.

Have had a busy morning out shopping with Jenny and Becca and then having them all around for lunch, Jamie is starting to get excited about his birthday and seems to think everything I buy is for him!!
Mum wasn't very good today and I had to ask her neighbour to pop in and sort her out. Hopefully she has now gone to the doctors to get some of her repeat perscriptions sorted out.

Have a nice weekend!

Jenny, Ed and the children have gone to David and Zens for the weekend, I do hope the children end up like this and don't stay awake all night!

I have had another "do nothing" day I'm afraid. I knew Jenny and Ed were popping in to see mum and I worried they would find her a bit vague, but thankfully all went well. Mum enjoyed seeing them all and apart from being a bit forgetful, was fine.

How girly am I?

saw this on Jenny's blog and had to have a go, perhaps that does make me girly!

You Are 32% Girly
You are a pretty hardcore tomboy, and a very free spirit.Gender roles be dammed, you like to do things your way.

I have always known I am not very girly, this just confirmed it!

Feeling Lazy!

It's been a funny sort of day today, can't seem to get down to doing anything.
This morning we did our weekly shop and then went to a local farmer's market, wasn't that much there though. This afternoon I have been trying to motivate myself to do my CJ pages but instead have been messing about on the computer doing nothing in particular. Would like to thank all my cyber friends for their concern over mum, it's nice to know they are out there thinking of me.
I'm convinced now that mums problem is linked to the medication it is only a part of her memory that seems to be affected she is very aware of everything else.
Going to put on the last disc of Alias now and chill out a bit, might even buy some maltesers!

Go Willie!!

Just a quick post today as I'm off to bed in a moment. Had a nice walk along by the sea this morning but apart from that haven't done much, have been too worried about mum. She seems very confused and forgetful at the moment and I'm hoping it is all the medication she is on that is doing it She walked down to the doctors twice today and then phoned me up cross as they were not open, I had to remind her it was Sunday, glad she could laugh about it!
Watched Strictly come dancing and was sorry to see Willie go out and surprised John Barnes was in the bottom two, I think he is quite good, didn't like the singers tonight but Anton and Erin's dance was good.

I've been tagged!

Just a quick post as I have been tagged by Sue aka greyhound lover.
I have to share 7 facts about myself and then tag 7 more people, unfortunately I don't know 7 more people to tag who haven't already done it so will just do my facts!

1. My favourite colour is green.

2. My family seem to think I am stupid although I went to a grammar school!

3. I am very competitive and hate losing at anything.

4. I have been on a diet all my life.

5. I too love maltesers.

6. I am a tidy person and hate any mess ( as my children know)

7. I love Dr Who and have watched it from the very beginning, unfortunately I wont be able to watch the new series as I cannot stand Catherine Tate.

Smile

Did this layout this afternoon from a class by Amber Harrop-Johnston on the Design Collective, it was perfect for this lovely photo of Becca.

Ian and I went out early today for a nice walk down to the front, we had to take advantage of the lovely weather and my leg is starting to feel a lot better. I then came home and made some polish cake and had egg and bacon for my lunch, so much for the healthy start to the day!

Bowls again!

Firstly, here are three more pages for my shimelle book. This page is to encourage me to enjoy myself whatever the weather, I do tend to get miserable when it rains a lot.
This is a reminder not to put off things as sometimes it might be too late.

Another reminder to enjoy simple pleasures, you don't have to spend a fortune!
Ian and I had our second bowls lesson today and we both enjoyed ourselves. I did a few good shots and was feeling quite pleased with myself then Ian got his revenge. It is quite a tiring game I thought although our coach runs up and down the green with ease, it was therefore a bit demoralising when he told me today he was 80yrs old and had spent 3yrs in hospital after a motorbike crash before I was even born.

" Wilkinson"

We took Jamie out for the day yesterday, we went to Battle as it was the anniversary of the Battle of Hastings. Jamie smiled at me and managed to get a bow and arrows!

We watched a re-enactment of the battle but unfortunately I was on the losing side!

William and his Knights put up a good fight.

We all booed them as they went passed.

There was a strange new battle cry on the field, I didn't understand it, they all kept chanting "Wilkinson" !
In the morning we went on a 3hr hike all around the battle fields, with a history lesson thrown in. It was exhausting as it was very hilly, how those soldiers managed to fight after that long walk I will never know!

"all by myself"

Have the day to myself today which is a rarity! Ian has gone to the golf and Andrew is away. Jenny and I went to the shops first thing as there were some sales on, didn't buy much though.
Came home and did this layout from a class by Karen Miller on the Design Collective, I love those photos of Becca!
Have just made myself feel ill eating a huge prawn salad, it was yummy though!
I'm going to try and do some more classes as I have fallen behind with some, the sun is shining and that always makes me feel more inclined to do something.

secrets!

made this little wallet today using basic grey fruitcake papers and a class by Clare Brown on the Design Collective. I hope to keep a list of everyones presents in it as I have mums to buy as well and often forget what I have! I made lots of little pockets inside out of christmas envelopes, good job I have small writing though!
Ian and I had a nice walk by the sea again this morning and stopped for a coffee, the weather has been lovely today.

Bowls

Had a nice day today, first I went shopping with Jenny and then Ian and I had our first bowls lesson. Surprisingly I quite enjoyed it and wasn't as bad as I thought I would be at it! Once I had mastered which way to hold it, made sure the small circle was on the inside and learnt the weight and line, I was away, roll on next week!!
Andrew had an interview for a new job this morning and despite not selling himself well has been offered it on a 3 month trial period because of his manager's glowing report on him, the little darling! Why can some people really boast about themselves whilst our family is so modest!
Have been trying to play pirates on facebook but haven't got very far, judging by Jenny's score she must be on it all day.

CC class

Have finally managed to get a UKS cybercrop class done, had to do this one as it was by a D.C. designer! The photos are of Jamie and Alex taken a few years ago when we went to Farming World, they loved the bees. Really wanted to put buzzy for the title but only had one z!
Had a terrible night last night, woke before 3am and couldn't get back to sleep, must get a better night tonight as it is bowls tomorrow!

My Home Town

It has been a beautiful day here and Ian and I went for a lovely walk by the sea before meeting Jenny, Ed and the children for a pot of tea.
I have been thinking about the pages I will do for my CJ and I can't get away from the fact I love living here because of all the birds and the sea.

To see the sun shining on the water and watching the yachts etc, I love it. It is such a good form of exercise, walking along the shore and the sound of the waves is very therapeutic. I have taken so many photos of the sea I don't know which ones to choose!

Saturday babysitting!

Did this layout from a Design Collective class by scrapdolly, really enjoyed it as it was a good way to scrap several photos and it reminded me of having all the family here at christmas. I used basic grey fruitcak papers which I have been wanting to use all year!!

This morning I got up at 5.30am to go round to Jenny and Ed's as they were doing a carboot sale. Have to admit to feeling very tired at the moment although I had a nice time with the children at the park and playing games, Ian has taken Jamie to the football and Andrew is out playing football so it is nice and peaceful here, might have a snooze before strictly come dancing!

Kids!

Just a quick post tonight as I am very tired. Was busy this morning making iced buns and chocolate cake for the children as it is their day for coming.
Picked them up from school and went to the park as it was such a nice afternoon, had a good game of football etc.
Made quiche for tea which they all ate and then listened to Alex and Jamie doing their reading, was very impressed with them both.
Not much else to say really, the day has gone by very quickly!
sudoku - 318 Glad I am good at something as I came last out of me, Jenny, Helen and Sue at the IQ test I took last night. I was tired, that's my excuse!!

My Home Town CJ

This is my cover for my circle journal which I am doing with a few friends on the Design Collective. For those who don't know what a CJ is I will illuminate! 10 of us have made a CJ each and chosen our own theme, mine as you can see is about my home town. Others have chosen their themes and made their books. I have to start mine my doing a double layout about what makes living here special to me, it could be an historical fact, a favourite park, beach etc. We then send our CJ to the next person on list and they will do the same about where they live meanwhile I will be doing the next theme sent to me (sounds complicated doesn't it!) In 10 months time I will get my completed CJ back with lots of beautiful pages done by my team mates.
Have been getting weird messages today, someone wants to turn me into a zombie and someone else is getting very impatient at the amount of time I take to play scrabble, have finally sussed out what I am doing so let battle commence!!
The sun came out this afternoon so I have been doing some gardening too, I have been a busy little bee.

must keep posting!

I have been moaned at by two people in the last 24hrs, you know who you are!! I have not been posting enough recently. This can be hard when I am away and can't get to a computer but it can also be because I am feeling lazy and don't have much to say.
Today I went shopping with Jenny in the morning and then did the cover for my CJ in the afternoon, I will put photo on blog tomorrow as it is too late to take one now. Apart from that have not done much apart from watch Eastenders and Holby.

New month

Have felt a bit miserable today so have not done any scrapping. I did sort out my craft area and all my new stash though. I have some yummy new papers to play with so will hopefully do something tomorrow.
It has rained all day here which didn't help poor Andrew as he had to work on his car, still he is off to watch the spurs game with some mates tonight.
I'm off to look after the children soon as Jenny and Ed have an appointment with Jamie's teacher so will be able to play on the Wii!
Have finished reading Prey by Michael Crichton which was very good and have now started Free to trade by Michael Ridpath which I know I will enjoy. Strictly come dancing is back on TV this Saturday so I will have something to watch at last, looks like there are going to be quite a few good dancers on there.
