New online shop

http://www.3jollyscrappers.com/ One of my team mates on UKS has started her own online shop, have a browse if you can as there is some lovely stash on there.
Have a busy day today as we have the children for tea. The weather is terrible so Jenny has a big smirk on her face as she doesn't have to stand in that cold playground!
Have nearly finished my mini book, but seem to keep being interrupted by phonecalls. Hopefully it will all be dry soon and I will be able to take a photo of it.

Busy few days

Just a quick entry tonight as I don't like to leave my blog too long. Peter arrived Friday for the weekend, he had some O.U. coursework to collect. Saturday Ian and I played bowls and Ian won.
In the afternoon Jenny and I went to a crop and I started to make a mini book, I hope to finish it this week.
Today I have been playing everquest on the computer and cooking. Tomorrow I am taking mum for her hospital appointment.
Finished 24, which I did enjoy, Battlestar Galactica next I think!

Grandchildren

It has been clowdy and miserable here today so I have been doing some baking ready for the children coming around. I made some little cakes and shortbread which I have been trying not to touch!
We spent far too much at the supermarket yesterday, so I am hoping we won't need to spend much next week. I am still not buying any snacks, I try and make a cake etc and that lasts us all week. The fresh soups were half price so I bought several, they make a nice cheap lunch for us.
Tonight we are having chicken pie and the kids are happy with icecream for pudding. The price of food has risen considerably and I am determined to economise, I must find money for craft stash somewhere!!!

Lovely day

It has been a lovely day here, the sun has been shining and we had no rain! Ian and I walked down to the shops with Jenny and bought some very expensive chicken from the butchers, so much for eating better meat! I've decided to make it do 2 meals with lots of vegetables added.
Ian did some gardening, nothing too strenuous, and I made some pastry for a quiche and then worked on my CJ. This one was about indulgences, so I enjoyed myself doing it. We're not putting the pages on our blogs as it has to be a surprise for everyone. Now I've got that done I want to do some more DC classes.
Jamie is coming to spend the night here as he wants to watch the spurs game, hopefully he won't get up too early tomorrow!

sudoku

http://www.mousebreaker.com/games/sudoku/play.php here is the link for the daily sudoku. My score today was 559, I've not been doing well lately!
Meant to do so much today but ended up playing on the computer! We did go for a walk in the afternoon and I made some chocolate brownies and butter tartlets so I've not been too lazy. Oh well, in the words of Scarlet O'Hara " tomorrow is another day" !

Sons!

I did this layout today from a class on colour blocking by Karen Miller on the Design Collective. The photo is of Peter and Andrew washing up on Mother's Day!
It was quite nice this morning so we took the children to school and then went for a pot of tea with Jenny down the front. It was nice to get out as the weather soon turned and it was raining again!
This afternoon the children came round for tea and to play championship manager.
sodoku today was appalling - 813!

Cards

Here are some cards I made last week.

I used up some of the scraps from my kits.

The designs were from classes on the Design Collective.

Now I have a confession to make. I have signed up to Everquest again and have been spending far too much time on it instead of doing any scrapping! I tell myself I play it to spend some time with my boys but really it is because I enjoy it! When the month is up I may stop, but we will see.
I did make a lovely lemon drizzle cake yesterday which is so big it will take us ages to finish.
This was because we have finally finished all the christmas goodies and I needed to make something.
Tomorrow I plan to do some scrapping, I do really!

Mini book

I finished off this little book today. I decided to use some old photos of Andrew at his 5th birthday party.

We used the church hall and combined parties with his friend Michael.

We played all the usual party games.

You can just see me in the pink jumper looking quite slim!! Peter is standing in the other corner and David is helping out with musical chairs in the other photo.
I have decided I must scrap more of my children's photos.
Played a little on the computer and read some of my book, apart from that have not done much today.

Lovely day!

It has been a lovely day here, clear blue skies and nice and sunny. Ian and I went for a walk on the beach, it was so nice to get out after a couple of really wet and cold days. I've been very good with my exercise today, getting up early and doing a Rosemary Conley workout before going on our walk. Ian played bowls afterwards whilst I looked after the children.
I've also been good with my scrapping, making 5 cards yesterday and an acetate mini book today, I just have to add the photos tomorrow when everything has dried.
Have just watched Peter Kay on Who wants to be a millionaire, he got up to £20 .000 but got the last question wrong and dropped to £1000. I thought they were going to struggle when they didn't know who had won the world cup!

They set a challenge every week on UKS and it has been a while since I did one. I'm going to try and do it each week again as it is good fun and makes me try different things. This one was set by the rikrak ravers and we had to use a sketch, somthing new, use rirak or sewing, 3 patterned papers and doodle, all for 30 points for our team.
The photos were taken in July 2006 at Alex's sport's day.
It has been very wild here today so haven't been out, should really start doing an exercise dvd instead. I finished Alias at last, it was very good, and have now gone on to 24 which I am enjoying so far, have watched first 4 episodes.

Bit of gardening!

This layout was a class on the DC by scrapdolly. I used a kit Ian got me for Christmas.
It has been cold but sunny here today so after our weekly shop, Ian and I decided to do some gardening. I'd bought some rhubarb to be planted so Ian dug over the ground and I pulled out a few weeds and tidied up the greenhouse. We'd also been to the petshop to get some birdseed and mealworms for our robins so I filled up all the feeders. We do get some lovely birds here, the latest being a woodpecker.

Yesterday we played bowls and we managed to draw, so we are both happy!

Crafty me!

Here is my finished christmas journal, I'm so pleased to have completed it, now I need to finish my Learn something new class, I'm almost there so will hopefully finish that this week. I've also almost completed a Design Collective class today so I am feeling very crafty!
Our team on UKS has decided to set a weekly challenge for the other teams in celebration of our birthday. When I have got the dates we will have to do some research and come up with a few ideas and layouts, should be fun. I want to get back to doing the challenges so hopefully this will encourage me and my team mates.

Finished!

I have finally finished my christmas journal, I've put pva glue over the paper on the cover and that is drying out tonight so, hopefully, I will be able to put in on my blog and flickr tomorrow.
I've also sorted out all the papers etc and put them all away so I feel I can now get down to some serious DC work, there are so many classes I want to have a go at.
Ian has been helping Ed with the decorating so Jenny and the children came round here for the afternoon, the children seemed to be occupying all the computers so that gave Jenny and I a chance to bind my journal and have a look through all my stash, always a fun thing to do.
Nearly finished The Reading Group book that Ian gave me for Christmas and then I will be starting David and Zen's one, In the Woods by Tana French, a new crime author.
Looking forward to Foyle's War tonight although very sad it will be the last series, I.T.V. seem to only want to put on trashy programmes now.

Nearly there!!

The prompt from shimelle for the 1st of Jan was, of course, to do your aims or resolutions for the year and to add a new colour to your journal.
Next was to write about your feelings about Christmas and use something white.

This prompt was to jot down your favourite moments of this Christmas, I have put them inside the card.

A very useful prompt for today was to write down ways of making things easier next year.

Taking down the decorations and your feelings about it was todays prompt.
I only have tomorrows prompt and then the cover of my journal to do and it is finished.
Has been quite a nice day here, the sun has been shining and we had a nice walk down to the sea and to do a bit of shopping, Jenny and the children came with us. I bought some rhubarb to put in the garden as it is something Ian and I both love to eat.
Andrew and Ian then went off to play snooker and I had a bit of time to myself to do my shimelle class. I will have to sort out all the papers etc I have been using, I have made quite a mess.
I tried a new recipe from Delia - cheese enchiladas with salsa, very nice, I shall definitely do them again.

3 little terrors!

I have spent all afternoon trying to print some good photos for my DC classes and have had to tear them up as they were too dark. Couldn't resist this photo though as the little girl in the front looks full of mischief, I'm sure she is a little angel really, I know Uncle Andrew thinks so!
This morning Ian and I played bowls and he won, I have to let him sometimes!
He beat me at sudoku too, my score - 604

Going well

Just a quick one tonight to say my diet is still going well!! Hopefully tomorrow will be just as good. We didn't go out for a walk as it was so cold but hope to make up for that tomorrow with a game of bowls. Instead I got my CJ done which I am very pleased about, I had to think of someone I admire and who has been influential. I chose Ian Botham for all the charity walks he did raising over £10 million for leukaemia research, yes I do know he made 14 centuries and took 383 wickets in his career too!

It's cold!

Here is the calender I made yesterday, it was from a kit by Sarah's Cards.
My next prompt for shimelle's class was to journal things you like about christmas.

For day 29 we had to make our front cover, which I haven't done yet. Day 30 was to look back over what you had done during the year

31, of course was to journal how you spend New Years Eve, something I tend not to make much of but last year we went to Jenny and Ed's, so I did that.
I'm nearly finished now and feeling quietly smug!
It has been very cold here today and we might be getting some snow, great photo opportunity!
Ian and I had a walk this afternoon and the wind was bitter, I was very glad to get back indoors.
We also did our weekly shop which I am happy to say was under£60. I made a meal from a recipe in my new Jamie Oliver book and everyone seemed to enjoy it. I'm still on my diet, nearly 2 days, feel quite in control at the moment.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to everyone who reads my blog, may it be a good one for us all.
New years resolutions, I always have to make them, they don't always last long though!
1. Try some more new recipes - actually use some of those cookery books.
2. Do more Design Collective classes, they are so good.
3. Complete 3 cross stitch kits, hardly a ripple in my stash.
4. Lose 3 stone - again!!
5. Get to grips with the garden, don't just think about it.
6. Exercise daily.
7. Actually get to David and Zen's!
8. Journal my holidays
9. Declutter.
10. Try not to worry as much, you can't do everything!

I could probably think of lots more but these will do for now. Have had a nice day, the decorations are all down and the house looks tidy again. Jenny and the children came round and Jamie has stayed for the Spurs game. I made my calender which is very pretty but as the light is bad will take a photo tomorrow.
