Saturday

Feel quite smug today as I got on the scales and had stayed the same, the fact that "the same" is pretty ghastly is neither here nor there!
Ian and I got up early to do everyone's shopping for them and fortunately the shops were quite empty. I then did all the ironing and made a pudding while Ian recovered from the shopping,
this afternoon Jenny, Ed and the children came round to torment us, Alex very kindly sorted out my computer for me, a job he is always doing as Andrew will keep messing it up!
Played Trivial Pursuit in the evening and I won, actually got 2 geography questions right, I amazed myself.

Off to the shops again today with mum, she wanted to spend all her money!! Peter did his yearly clothes shop and got some nice stuff, couldn't get Andrew out though.
This afternoon we watched Top Hat on dvd which Mum liked and I did some cross stitch and then some knitting, Ian sorted out my new printer scanner which will be very useful.
the house is a mess the ironing needs doing and I need to do food shopping, Christmas is well and truely over!

The wednesday after Christmas!

Well Christmas is over for another year, we still have enough food to feed an army, it pains me to say perhaps Scrooge was right! Anyway we had a nice time with all the family,it was good to see David and Zen arrive on Christmas Day. Everyone was around Boxing Day and I'm afraid Ed disappointed me, he didn't eat all the food!
Thank you to everyone for all my pressies, I liked them all especially the two mary Berry ultimate cakes books! I will be baking in the new year.
Been to the sales today and bought 2 jumpers and some trousers, taking Mum tomorrow at a more normal time.

Thursday

Got up early to do food shopping at Sainsburys, got there about 8.30 and it was nice and empty. Scrooge was hoping we wouldn't spend much as we have been getting stuff in all month, he was very disappointed! We do have all the family coming and mum, so I dont know what he thought we would be giving them!
Marzipanned the cake when I got back, I used a Mary Berry recipe which I'm pleased with as it seems very moist.
Tried to play on EQ this afternoon but the server is down so did some cross stitch instead, 1 more bluetit to go!
Ian spent ages trying to find me a card until I pointed him in the direction of M&S, then banned me from the bedroom while he wrapped up my pressies, he was in there a long time which I thought was promising, but when I looked he was playing on the computer!

tuesday

Went to the garden centre and got my plant for Christmas and then Ian had the bright idea of going to a nature reserve as it was nice and bright here. We set off full of enthusiasm until we reached the other side of margate where the fog had come down, had to turn round and abandon trip, got back home and it was lovely and sunny!
Phoned Jenny and was pleased Jamie was so keen to come round, realised why when he ran into the house shouting for Uncle Peter! I had to play football on the x box to cheer him up,he scored 3 own goals to make it a bit more even! My house looses its attraction when the uncles aren't here!

Monday - the week before Christmas!

Have had a nice weekend with the family even though Peter ate most of the lemon flan!! He has been trying to educate us as he is goes to a london market so much the stallholders know him now! We had some yummy baguettes on saturday with parma ham and buffalo mozzerella (hope spelling correct) and salad beats cheese and pickle anyday! in the evening we watched S.C.D. cheering on Karen and Mark (me anyway) and then had an indian takeaway just like Pauline Quirke.
Sunday the kids came round for the morning and showed us some more dance moves, very good they were too if a bit scarey.
As Peter had taken over my computer I thought I would sort out my cross stitch, looked in diary in my bag, aims for 2006, finish blue tit kit and woodland one, Jan 2nd did some of bluetit kit, then ....
Aim for 2007, finish bluetit kit and woodland one!!

Friday - Ian's birthday

Hurray, school holidays, I dont have to go and look after the little darlings for a couple of weeks. I have been entertaining them with some dancing at lunchtime, getting some good scores as well, the noise from the hall has been horrendous, still it is christmas!
Ian had a nice birthday, thanks to all who sent him something.
Thanks also Helen for your nice comments on my blog, it's good to get positive feedback!
Off to Canterbury tomorrow for some last minute shopping so going to bed now in preperation!

thursday

Have been very busy today getting ready for Ian's birthday tomorrow. Dashed to the shops for last minute present, then we got out the christmas decorations, I'm now working on him getting me a nice plant decoration from the garden centre as we have stopped getting a real tree.
Had some nice cards from school, shame the children aren't allowed to give them as their teachers do!
I really want Mark and Karen to go through at the weekend but fear they might be pushed out by the Emma Fan Club.Even watched a bit of cricket today as we were actually doing well, 30 mins which is good for me! Then turned to snooker and saw Ronnie O'Sullivan make a fool of himself, silly boy. Spurs won which rounded the day of nicely, as you can see I don't get much of a look in where the tv's concerned!

Peter and Katie

Have just spent 2hrs watching the Royal Variety Performance, cant stay up to watch the rest after the news, I'm not that mad! Having watched a few comedians I'd never heard of and seen Barry Manilow trying to smile, the high spot of the show came, no it was not Take That or even Meatloaf, a horrendous noise came from the wings and katie Price appeared warbling away, it was so bad it was funny. She made Peter Andre look good which is a hard thing to do.
Tried to wrap up a few presents earlier and found I'd bought too many things for some people will have to go and get more for the others to even things out, I'm getting more like my mum everyday!

Sunday

Have been trying unsucessfully to make another slideshow of the children, Alex and Becca with the singing tree! They had a good time with it this morning until it died!
Have decided instead to do a book review. I have been trying to read a new author each time I go to the library and have just finished The Sunday Philosophy Club by Alexander McCall Smith. It doesn't sound very exciting but was actually a sort of detective story. A young man falls to his death at the theatre and the woman who saw it happen tries to find out whether it was an accident or not. I did quite enjoy it but it took me 10 days to read so it wasn't a "cant put down" story
Marks out of 10 - 6
Have finally done it!

Stormtrooper alert!!

today has been a lovely day here, the sun has been shining, the birds singing and the lovely sea air has been very invigorating, it's on days like today I'm glad I moved to the seaside!
Having spent 3hrs at the hairdressers having the grey hair dealt with, we had a quick lunch then we hurried off to Jen's house. The children were busy putting up the christmas tree and were doing a very good job of it. We had to stop though as Darth Vader had come to town and we were off to see him. Got some good photos of the children with a stormtrooper and an especially good one of Ed on his knees with a gun pointed at him, nice to see him where he belongs! Then Ed took Jamie in to see David Prowse and we went to do a bit of shopping.
Next it was off to a Dickens Christmas Fayre with some people dressed in costume, we particularly enjoyed a juggler's act and Becca enjoyed a carousel ride while Grandad bought some fudge.

Friday

Very pleased with my scrapbook page I did yesterday, it was of Andrew at school with a bird of prey (not sure what sort) on his arm, he didn't look too impressed! The papers went very well with it and I actually wouldn't change any of it.
Today has been very wet, couldn't let the children out in the playground and several people were off sick so it was hard work, glad it's the weekend!
Made 6 more cards and will send them off tomorrow, need to get 1 to america quickly.
Mum has been to the doctors and is very worried about her leg, he wants her to see a consultant, the doctor is blaming her for not showing it to him but she has been about it 3 times this year, if a mistake has been made then he has done it not her.
Jenny showed me a list of mums relatives that Tich has done, nice to see he doesn't include Ed, Jamie, Alex and Rebecca still the names are a bit unusual I suppose!
Teas nearly ready so going to settle down soon and watch the dancing programme, I do hope Karen and Mark get through tomorrow.

Thursday

Have spent the afternoon making christmas cards with a long interruption talking to my son on the phone, he was bored at work! Only managed to make 5 cards but quite pleased with the results.
This evening I'm off to the crop with Jenny we're hoping to get a lot of work done there.
Was going to take photos of some more of my work to make a slide show but the light wasn't good enough, that's my excuse anyway!

Tuesday

Hi everyone, have been so busy there has been no time for my blog!!
Went to Lakeside at the weekend, i must be getting old as I found it a bit boring, although I saw Maureen and John and exchanged presents which was nice. We then went to Peter's to get Alex for the weekend, we all went to Pizza hut and had a lovely meal. It was then back home to watch S.C.D. with a very fidgety grandson i must have asked him 10 times if he needed the toilet!
Got a bit worried that Mark and Karen were going to be in the last 2 but luckily it was Emma and Darren and Carol and Matthew, felt a bit sorry for Carol and Matthew when they went out as they had danced well. Recorded the results for Alex to watch the next morning and he couldn't watch he was so anxious.
We went for a walk along the sea front in the afternoon and had a coffee and cake.
Monday it was back to school for Alex and I made tea for Jenny Ed and co when they came home. I also made my christmas cake finally.
Today I have defrosted the fridge ready for all the christmas goodies, done the ironing and made some chocolate brownies so have been quite busy, also did some cross stitch while watching Battlestar Gallactica
