Herne Bay
credits: Simply Sarah Designs
As it was such a lovely day we decided to go for one of our 52 walks. We drove to Herne Bay and were surprised by the mist over the sea.
the gardens there were beautiful, no wonder they had won awards.
I gave in and let Ian buy fish and chips at Ernie’s Plaice, I have to own up to eating some of it too.
We sat in the gardens eating our meal and enjoying the sunshine, a lovely day!

books
Since starting the blogging for scrapbookers class I’ve been reading a few blogs of classmates and apart from scrapping and seeing pictures of where they live, I’ve been very interested in the books they read.
Today’s prompt was all about lists so I thought I would concentrate on books. Last year I joined the Goodreads website as I now have more time to read again. I managed 40 books last year and I’ve tried to pick out 5 of my favourites.
1. The girl with the dragon tattoo by Stieg Larsson.
2. The Pact by Jodi Picoult.
3. Complicit by Nicci French.
4. The Boleyn Inheritance by Philippa Gregory.
5. Starter for ten by David Nicholls.
Apart from Nicci French who I love, all the others were new authors to me last year. I’m so glad I broadened my reading and am keen to try more.
When I have more time I plan to make a layout about this but for now it’s back to my book!
busy, busy busy!

Had a busy morning taking Andrew’s car in for it’s M.O.T. and making an appointment at the opticians as I broke my glasses. Was able to phone with good news about the car, it passed and having eyes tested tomorrow. Good job it’s sunny as I can wear my sunglasses!
This afternoon I made a few cards using an idea I saw on the banana frog blog by Anne, you can find it here.
So not a bad day really, the diet is still going well which always lifts my spirits.

The garden
Each year as it gets warmer I say this will be the year we get the garden under control. I have such plans, my garden will be a delight! So many things can spoil my plans, the weather, family problems, my laziness to name but a few.
This year will be different, we have already made a start. Perhaps not much compared with others but it’s good for us.
Now where’s my book and a garden chair!

Blogging for scrapbookers
Shimelle has started her Blogging for scrapbookers class again, you can find it here.
I’ve thought long and hard about taking part again and feel I want to have a go but I’m not going to worry if I miss a few days. Memories are so precious, having just spoken to my mum who is very forgetful now, I’m especially aware of this.
So my intentions are to try and not be so lazy with my blog. I will record the daily events here and hopefully one or two people will enjoy reading them. If it makes me scrap more all the better!

It’s been a lovely warm day here, perfect for a spot of gardening. So after doing all the housework (me) and playing bowls (Ian) and also a walk along by the sea which was looking stunning
and a stop of for this
we managed to do quite a bit of gardening.
Then it was indoors to get the ironing done and start on tea!

Lazy Sunday

I’m very achy after exercising yesterday so have spent a quiet morning doing this layout.
I used a sketch on Shimelle’s blog and also an idea for the photos she featured by Kirsty Smith. The papers etc all come from the latest Sarah’s Cards kit – October Afternoon, modern homemaker.

You know that feeling? You really should get on and do something but instead you browse on the internet doing nothing in particular. I feel like I’ve had a wasted afternoon!

Pancake Day
It’s that day again, Shrove Tuesday or Pancake Day.
I’ve just made them for the three of us, two each, nice and simple. Gone are those days of four hungry children coming back for more. Three pints of batter and David would still have kept going!
It’s little family times like this that are so special. I can remember my Dad (I’m sure mum did as well) making them for me and feeling special and loved and I’ve kept up the tradition although not always with eagerness!
It’s done now for another year, thankfully, except Ian has come up with a brilliant suggestion, “why not make them on Christmas Day, something light after a big turkey dinner?”
Not one of your better ideas Ian!
Reculver Roman Fort

It’s been a beautiful day so we decided to do our next walk. We drove to Reculver and walked by the sea.
There are the remains of an old church.
They have imported large rocks to try and stop the sea.
We had a lovely walk and will definitely go again.

digi class
Another Jessica Sprague class, filling a title with patterned paper. The photo was taken by Jenny and the font was a free one called NKOTB Fever by Dafont. I loved this technique and will definitely be using it again.

productive morning!
I’ve been enjoying myself this morning doing a Shimelle class you can find here. The photos are of Jamie’s first day at big school and the papers are bobunny from a Sarah’s Cards kit.
I’ve also been out in the garden trying to find signs of life!
