Rinda has the first link-up for the summertime photography scavenger hunt on her blog this weekend, there’s still plenty of time to join in.

This morning we walked out to our monthly Farmer’s Market and I was able to take this photo. It was a change to see so many people there, the last few we’ve been too the weather was awful. There I go being British again, always talking about the weather!

time for a cuppa?

SDC16822

It’s a lovely sunny afternoon, just right for a relaxing cup of tea and a chat.

SDC16824

If you were to drop by we would probably take our drinks out into the garden to enjoy the sunshine. I would show you the parts of my garden that I’m pleased with and the parts that still need working on, you could even get some garden gloves and give me a hand!

SDC16788

I would love to tell you about my mum who reached the grand old age of 90yrs last week but would also tell you our worries as she lives over 100 miles away and is needing our help quite often. We would love to have her living near us if we could find a way.

SDC16816

Now that the weather is improving I would tell you about the beautiful walks around here, we might even decide to take a thermos on the beach.

If you enjoy reading as much as I do we could discuss the books we are reading  this month.

I would also mention Rinda's photo scavenger hunt and how I’m looking forward to finding more, I’ve only managed two so far.

Oh I almost forgot, I’m so pleased my daughter has started blogging again, if you have a moment then pop over to her blog here I’m sure she would like to see you.

Now I really should say good-bye as I need to start preparing the dinner, do come and visit again.

To go and have another cup of tea or coffee do go over to Abi's blog

project life

JN-DPL-weekend-web

My daughter and I have recently been doing a new class by Jessica Sprague on project life. I’m hoping that by practising this year I will be able to do it digitally next year. This is my first attempt following the instructions given, it was great fun.

a little bit of crafting

SDC16768-001

It’s been a long time coming but I’ve finally dusted off some craft supplies and made a layout. I did need some inspiration from Jennifer Gallacher, scrap lifting her layout here, she makes it all look so easy. I’m hoping that’s got me started now and I’ve got over my dark mood.

I hope you all have plenty of time to do what you love best over the weekend.

precious little words

it’s Storytelling Sunday over on Sian's blog and time to think of something precious, as it’s Father’s Day this month I wanted to think about my dad.

SDC16766

This might look like a bundle for the recycling to you but it is very precious to me. My dad has been gone for nearly 30 years now but these little messages on cards bring him back. My mother has told me that it was his writing on a letter asking her out that persuaded her to accept, not the words but the beautiful handwriting. She always asked him to put something funny on the cards and he always obliged not thinking that I would still be reading them all these years later.

I love the little pictures too from the children when he was ill, the big tummy makes me laugh. Although they were all quite young when he died I hope the memories are still there.

Do go over to Sian’s blog here and read more stories what better way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon.
