Trying again!

I have been trying to do a bit of digi with photoshop elements, again!! The instuctions for this layout can be found http://www.jessicasprague.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=943:get-started-for-free&catid=69:jscom-articles&Itemid=147. I did manage to follow the instructions, eventually, and did this page. It has encouraged me to finish the Stories in hand class and with a little help from Andrew and Peter, I am getting there!

We went down to the bandstand this afternoon and listened to a very good bad, they played lots of marches I had never heard before and a little bit of Oliver too. It's been so hot here, I was out in the garden at 7am today enjoying a cuppa in the shade.

looking ahead

I did this layout for my book of me today. I have always liked this photo, well you can't see my face for a start! I've done some hidden journalling about my hopes and aims at 15yrs for my future and will see as I do more pages whether I have achieved all of them.
Have just finished watching Andy Murray winning his match easily, still think Federer will win the tournament though.

have just finished a book by Jodi picoult called nineteen minutes, couldn't put it down! it's about a young boy who goes into his school and shoots several students, sounds horrible but it then goes back over his life and shows what happens to make him do it. Although you know what he has done is terribly wrong, you can't help feeling sorry for him, he is bullied relentlessly from the age of 5yrs because he doesn't fit into the american idea of being sporty, clever, thin and handsome!

Too Hot!

managed to do this layout yesterday using my latest Sarah's Cards kit which was gorgeous. Kirsty Wiseman was the guest designer and this was a scraplift of one of her layouts.

Ian came back exhausted from Wimbledon, so glad I didn't go as he said I wouldn't have been able to take the heat. Woke up this morning with a terrible headache in sympathy I think!

Did manage to go to Becca's sports day which was good fun, will upload photos later. have the boys ones to look forward to next week.

have signed up for this free photo editing class as I desperately want to improve my photos, lets hope I can understand the instructions !!

I've been a bad blogger for a few days, blame it on feeling very tired and playing EQ2 again.
Having received my latest Sarah's Cards Kit and everyone going off to Wimbledon today, I have no excuse for doing some scrapping. I might just go and eat my prawn salad first though!

mini book of cats!

I sorted out some photos of our cats the other day and thought it would be fun to make a mini book of them.
Our main cats over the years were Pixie, Zipper, Gizmo, Psycho aka Coco, Winnie and Ickle!!

We also had several litters of kittens over the years as I was a sucker for little kittens. All of them went to good homes except for two who stayed with us!! It surprised me a bit that Peter and Andrew could tell straight away which was which in the photos, I found it hard with the tabbies except for Pixie who was The King and ruled the neighbourhood!

I also managed this layout of my eldest three playing crazy golf on holiday near Weymouth, we do go to other places I promise!! We stayed at Moonfleet Manor, the first time we went to a hotel with the children, it was a real treat.

I've been thinking of doing the new colour challenge over on shimelle's blog, you can find it http://www.shimelle.com/. I've done lots of her classes and always enjoy them so all being well I think I will join in!

scrapping!

Seem to be on a roll with my scrapping, did the weekly challenge set by the RikRak Ravers over on UKS. We had to use a sketch provided, acetate, rikrak and homemade embellishment. I managed all that and claimed 30pts for my team. I now have the daunting task of adding more pages to my album, I always get in a mess doing that and Ian has to rescue me!!

Peter has come for the day and to eat Sunday roast, it's nice to have him near enough to do that. I think they are all getting ready to watch the tennis so will finish now.

lazy Saturday!

Haven't really done much today apart from scrapping this layout. I saw a class by Rachael Elliott over on Sarah's Cards blog and knew I wanted to have a go. I used the gorgeous crate paper lemongrass collection, which must be one of my favourites and a lovely photo of Becca, doesn't she look cute!

bears

managed to do this layout for the SLYMI challenge, to do a self portrait!. I used my latest sarah's cards kit and knitted an embellishment with some left over wool from when I made Jenny a Popcorn bear.

We've been quite busy today, walking to the library and then down by the sea, were out walking for 2hrs so that must help the diet. We then did some gardening this afternoon so feel quite pleased with myself.

Holiday in Dorset

We have all been on a short holiday in Dorset. The weather was lovely and I must have been in a good mood as I let Zen take a photo of me!! We had gone to a Teddy Bear museum in Dorchester as I love my teddies.
The three children got the top three prizes for the most signatures on their hats, they even asked the dustmen, who said they had never been asked before.

We had to go to Portland Bill, Jenny wanted a photo with the lighthouse in like Grandad's.

Back at the lodge I got up early each morning and fed the birds and squirrels.

Alex learnt the best way to make a strong wall at Portland Castle.

The men were amazed at how blue the sea was out at the Bill.

We visited Monkey World and Becca and Alex needed a rest!

Andrew trying on a helmet at Portland Castle.

A final family pose, wish I could have got everyone in.
It was a lovely few days that went too quickly and seems to have produced an amazing amount of washing!
