This weekend I've attempted to make some forget-me-not flowers as seen on Miriam's blog. It involve learning a new crochet stitch, a dtr and a few false starts but I am slowly making a few, not very perfect flowers. With several family members having had alzheimers, it is a charity I would like to support

Sometimes you wake up and feel as grotty as the weather and rather than carry on I learnt this weekend it's ok to get back into bed and have a sleep.

The papers are very old dianekappa Country Charm and I've also used embellishments from a basic grey kit I received this Christmas. I followed an old 4x6 photo love class by a Shimelle, the fourth photo is underneath the title along with some journalling.

This weekend I have been learning how to make a little knitted elephant as a friend for my little rabbit, all patterns by Julie at http://littlecottonrabbits.typepad.co.uk/. She does explain things very well in her very detailed patterns.
We have also enjoyed a lovely Valentine's meal courtesy of M&S this weekend and a few very brisk walks out in the cold.

This weekend has been all geared up to watching the Super Bowl, well the men did while I went to bed. It did involve making chilli and buying lots of american snacks to get in the mood, something that appealed to me more. As our grandson stayed the night and started to get sleepy, they all gave up at half time and are busy watching the second half as I type, carefully avoiding any news as they don't want to know the result. 

While this has been going on we've also been trying to cure a leaking toilet cistern so that is my learning something new part. With the help of the internet and you tube videos we've saved money on a plumber and fixed it ourselves, although it did take us three days to do it!

Following along with Shimelle's Monday challenge I scrapped a photo of me for the beginning of my 2016 album. I used some american craft papers my son gave me for Christmas and did some stamping as well. Anyone else joining in this challenge?

Memorandum Monday

For a long time now I've been visiting Little Cotton Rabbits blog and admiring her work. I've tried occasionally to buy or win one of her animals with no luck so this year I bought one of her lovely patterns. It's taking me a long time, I find the knitting fine it's the sewing skills I lack, but I feel I'm slowly getting to grips with it. This is my first attempt and although it's not as neat as I'd hoped, I'm quite pleased with it. There are lots of patterns in her shop and I'm already thinking about making an elephant, the little dresses and jumpers are gorgeous too and I see Christmas bunnies in the future.
For now it's back to my little bunny who really needs some arms and a dress!
