Hello it’s so nice to see you this month, do come in and have a cup of tea or coffee if you prefer.
How’s your month been? August has been a very busy month for us, I’ve loved seeing everyone and enjoyed the beach and trips out. Did you go anywhere nice, do tell me?
I have to say though I’m looking forward to September, the children will be back at school and most of the tourists gone so we can enjoy quiet walks by the sea and we won’t have to queue up for an ice cream!
Do you have anything planned? I’m looking forward to Shimelle’s Learn Something New Everyday class. I’ve been doing it for several years now and have completed each one. I’m following the same format as last year, divided page protectors in my year album, I like the interest that creates.
Have you seen the pile of books I’ve just received from ebay? I saw on Sian's blog that she had signed up for a free class on Laura Ingalls Wilder and I just had to join in. How I wish I hadn’t given all my books away when we moved, but with my son’s help I managed to find a set exactly the same, the new ones just weren’t good enough!
Well it looks like it’s going to be a busy September after all.
It’s been loving catching up with you and if you fancy another cuppa and chat do go over to Abi’s blog where more people are taking part.
I’ve been slowly snapping away trying to get the perfect shot but time is starting to run out so I thought I’d better post some more finds!
11. A horn
3. Birds on a wire (one very lonely bird)
fell in love with these birds though.
4. A group of tourists, the place is packed with tourists this time of year.
6. A sign in a language other than English
1. A sign welcoming people to your home town (or a nearby town)
15. A juggler
Just a few to get now including that sunrise!
A while back I took part in Sian's postcard exchange.
I sent mine off last month and I know most of them arrived ok.
Here are the ones I received, I’ve enjoyed looking at them over the last few weeks.
Thank you to Laura, Sheena, Mare-liez, Debs, Susanne, Lizzie and Sian x
Yesterday Ian and I decided to go out for a while, I find walking always helps to lift my spirits. I also wanted to take a few snaps with my new little camera.
and yes, it worked!
Last week was busy, so very, very busy.
there was lots of construction going on
trips out between showers
time on the beach
ice creams
dancing with Daddy
shows to watch
trips to the zoo
with a lot of walking
a breakfast birthday treat
a few minutes in the amusement arcade
Morris dancing
and fudge buying
there was even time for a last early morning play on the sand
and a bit more construction before the long journey home.
One little girl very happy and full of energy, several adults and three cousins exhausted!
Another challenge over on UKS summertime scrapbooking challenge was to use stamps on your layout. I used a Hero Arts Stamp your Story set to make my background, I love these stamps and will definitely use them again if my daughter doesn’t want them back too soon!
A few months ago I saw this post over on Attic24’s blog and thought I would make a cushion. I kept the design to 3 different colours as I didn’t want to spend too much and have a lot of wool left over. If I’m honest I love the rainbow of colours she used but I think this goes well in my room. Using the chunky wool made it grow quickly and the thickness is just right for a cushion.
The see it, pin it, do it meme is an idea of Fiona’s, you can visit her blog here
UKS have a summertime scrapbooking challenge going on over the weekend and as a liked the look of the first sketch I thought I would join in. Do go over and join in if you can.
20. A bus (not a car, truck, lorry, camper or RV) with a picture painted on its sides.
Stuck in a traffic jam, not moving at all for 2hrs, the one consolation being I managed to take this photo!
18. A water fall
Playing with my granddaughter, I hope this counts!
I’m slowly finding the photos, perhaps not always as intended but enjoying myself in the process.
linking up to Rinda’s blog where there are lots more photos to look at and admire.
