a seasonal photo

SDC18620

21. A photograph of you with something representing the season

These beach huts appear in late May and will be taken down in September, for me they always herald the start of the summer season.

This photo is part of Rinda's Summertime photography scavenger hunt, she has a linky on her blog at the moment so do go over and join in.

I sometimes forget that not everyone has seen a beach hut before so thought I should explain. Each summer people either hire a hut or bring back their own one to a plot they have hired. These are the ones that are painted and more individual looking. Inside will be stored all they need for a day at the beach, including gas stoves for the inevitable cup of tea! I always take an early morning stroll but later on in the day this beach will be full of families enjoying time together.

Tired out

SDC18631

Another layout for Shimelle's online crop using one of her sketches. There is one day left to enter the challenges so if you have time do go over to her blog and have a look.

Time for tea

SDC18629

Hi everyone, so pleased you can drop by. How are things with you? I’ve been up since about 5am enjoying the peace and quiet.

This month has flown by with lots of time to sit in the garden, watch the birds and enjoy a good book. I can particularly recommend An Officer and a Spy by Robert Harris which kept me wanting to read more.

My jogging is still going well and tomorrow I want to increase the time to 25mins. I’ve been told that any time over 20mins starts burning the fat more so that should keep me going!

My son has settled into his new home so we are back to the two of us again. I know we will see much more of him so I’m not too sad.

I’ve been dabbling a bit more with scrapbooking again after a few weeks break which makes me happy although I was very sad to see 2peas are closing down.

What have you all been up to, have you visited anywhere special?

Well it’s been lovely catching up, as usual I’ve talked far too much about myself. I’m off now to see what you are all getting up to.

Do go over to Abi’s blog to share in some more chats with the odd tea, coffee or even the occasional glass of wine on offer. We’d all like to welcome you x

weekend online crop

If you clicked on Shimelle’s blog last weekend you were in for a treat. From Friday evening to Sunday she was holding an online crop full of ideas, sketches and inspiration. I’m hoping to work my way through all the challenges and of course started with the first one, a sketch.

A simple layout of my attempt at jogging this year and for anyone interested I can now jog comfortably for 20mins!

a scrapbook page

SDC18566

This week I spent an afternoon scrapbooking, something I’ve not done for a while. I wanted to use my new silhouette and remembered a class I bought called Confessions of a B Side Scrapper by Nichol Magouirk. In this class was a layout using some cutting files from Kerri Bradford and I thought it would be a good place to start. It was quite easy when I got the hang of it and I can see myself going on a shopping spree soon to buy more images!

a few cards

SDC18534

My daughter brought round her Simon says Stamp kit again and we had fun making a few cards using the examples from the design team. The stamps are very good quality, I love the way they all fit together.
