pure attitude

SDC13001

having played around a bit yesterday with my photos I saw a class on 2peas by Nichol Maqouirk here which used a collage of photos. I’ve wanted to use these photos for ages and although they were taken at Christmas I decided to use papers from the latest Sarah’s Cards kit – pebbles inc – happy go lucky.

satisfying day

27 july

I picked courgettes, basil and parsley from our garden and made this yummy soup. Then feeling very pleased with myself I picked some blueberries and made some muffins.

Next I looked at Shimelle’s prompt and as I don’t have a fancy phone I used some Jessica Sprague frames and a mask to give a different look to my photos.

adventure

SDC12996

another great class from Shimelle  http://www.shimelle.com/. I followed her video as I had the papers, the June kit – cosmo cricket – social club from Sarah’s Cards http://www.sarahscardsltd.blogspot.com/. last week we had to write about an adventure so I did our holiday in Scotland, quite an adventure for me as I hate car journeys!

The start of another Shimelle class and horror of horrors, one of the first things we have to do is take a self portrait!!

SDC12895-1

So here I am in all my fatness, I have lost over a stone but still have a long way to go. Am I feeling creative at the moment? I’m always excited when I get the first prompt of a new class and tell myself I will enjoy it and not get stressed. I usually manage to finish a class too but occasionally it becomes a bit of a challenge. On the whole I enjoy a variety of creative things from knitting and cross stitch to digi and paper scrapping, I’m not that good at any of it but enjoy trying.

When I look through my window first thing in the morning I am usually excited by what the day holds. I’m fortunate that I don’t need to work and I’m still young enough and have the energy to get out there and live!

I’ve taken nearly all of Shimelle’s classes and as soon as I saw the name Explore, I knew this was another one for me.

baking

What is it about being a mum? I can still remember coming home from school to my mum’s custard tarts, sad cake, iced buns, it made me feel happy and loved. When my four children were young I had a baking session once a week. Shortbread, flapjacks, yum yums and chocolate cake seemed to disappear as fast as I made them. I think I got as much pleasure baking for them as they did eating the results!

Most times now it’s the grandchildren I bake for, but occasionally one of my children comes for a visit and I try and make them one of their favourites. Today it’s chocolate cake, yesterday was lemon flan and no doubt there will be more before he goes back.

Can you remember your mum baking and if so what was your favourite?

cards

I have a couple of birthdays coming up next month so thought I would be very organised and make the cards today. Looking on this blog for inspiration, I found some new digi stamps which I printed out then coloured with promarkers. I then dug deep and found some lovely dcwv and scenic route summery papers and I was away.

Sporty Great-Nan

It was mum's birthday recently and it got me remembering a conversation with my grandson, it went like this ..

" When will I be seeing you again nanny? "
" On Monday Jamie "
" Can we play football again? "
" Of course Jamie, Uncle Peter will be here and he can play too "
" and Great-Nan, she can play"
" Great-Nan is a bit old to play football Jamie "
" No she isn't, she can play and she's very good at cricket "

here she is playing cricket in our garden

and a layout, how organised am I !!

Happy 88th birthday mum!!
